CATALYST FOR RESIN FINISHING OF CELLULOSIC FABRICS |
|||||||||||||||
AVCO-CATALYST PMC is a catalyst used in resin finishing with DMDHEU and DMI resins. The use of AVCO-CATALYST PMC enables lower curing temperatures or shorter fixation times than with usual catalysts. SPECIFICATIONS:
PROPERTIES & USES: 1. Catalyst for glyoxal (DMDHEU) resins as well as for non-formaldehyde resins (DMI) 2. High buffering capacity at pH range of 5 – 6 3. Non–volatile preparation. Does not cause any corrosion to the stenter-frame or to other finishing ranges. 4. Liquid product can be dosed with automatic dosing machines. 5. Non-foaming at all. 6. Non-flammable and non-toxic, with very low irritating effect due to the very mild acidity. 7. Non-corrosive to fibers sensitive to mineral acids. 8. Can be used with non-ionic and cationic softeners and other finishing agents. APPLICATION: Add AVCO-CATALYST PMC to the resin finishing bath as the final component. The recommended dosages the following: Apply 50- 60% on the amount of DMDHEU type resins (AVCO-REZ ECO-CONC). Apply 40% on the amount of non-formaldehyde resins of the DMI type (AVCO-REZ ZFF). Finishing recipes: 1. Finishing recipe for 100% cotton with low content of free formaldehyde (<75 ppm) AVCO-REZ ECO CONC 30 – 60 g/l AVCO-SOFT PE 20 – 30 g/l AVCO-ELASTOGUN MEC 20 – 30 g/l AVCO-SOFT NIC 20 – 30 g/l AVCO-CATALYST PMC 18 – 36 g/l Pad, dry and cure at 150°C for 3 minutes. It is possible to apply a fast curing process on dried fabrics: I. Cure at 170°C for 45 seconds II. Cure at 180°C for 30 seconds
2. Finishing recipe for 100% cotton with zero free formaldehyde AVCO-REZ ZFF 80 – 160 g/l AVCO-SOFT PE 20 – 40 g/l AVCO-SUPERFINISH SNI 20 – 40 g/l AVCO-CATALYST PMC 32 – 64 g/l Pad, dry and cure in one step at 150°C for 3 minutes. It is possible to apply a fast curing process on padded and pre-dried fabrics: I. Cure at 150°C for 90 seconds. II. Cure at 160°C for 60 seconds. III. Cure at 170°C for 30 seconds. Remark: Fast curing processes at elevated temperatures depends on machine type, efficiency of heat transfer in the oven compartments and on the type of fabrics processed sensitivity to yellowing etc. |
