AVCO-CATALYST SIDP is a special depolymerization catalyst with excellent dispersing properties toward crosslinked or linear polysilixane polymers. The catalyst is decomposing the polymer back- bone to smaller entities, which can be dispersed in water and removed from the substrate.

PROPERTIES & USES:
- AVCO-CATALYST SIDP is decomposing and dispersing all kinds of poly-siloxane
polymers used in textile finishing processes, such as amino modified silicone
softeners and Spandex lubricants.
- The product removes un-wanted silicones from treated textiles and from textile
dyeing and finishing machines.
- Suitable for removing silicone contamination from all types of natural and
synthetics fibres such as cotton, viscose, polyester and polyacrylics.
- Enable re-dyeing of textiles treated with silicone finishes.
- Suitable for removing silicone deposits from dyeing and finishing machine parts.
- AVCO-CATALYST SIDP treatment can be applied as a preventative routine for keeping
the dyeing machines free from silicone polymer deposits.
- Use of AVCO-CATALYST SIDP for removing silicone spots from dyed fibres should be
pre-checked in the lab before application, some dyes are sensitive to the product
due to its cationic nature, and the alkaline conditions needed for the process.
APPLICATION:
-
AVCO-CATALYST SIDP is used for stripping silicone polymers from textile fabrics and-textile machines under hot alkaline conditions.
-
Use of high temperatures will reduce duration of the treatment.
-
The process has some influence on the shades of dyed fabrics. Check in the lab before use the stripping-off of the silicone contamination and the redying possibilities after it.
Following are some examples for using the product:
-
Stripping silicone contamination from cotton knit goods.
-
Load fabric into jet dyeing machine at liquor ratio of 1:10 up to 1:15.
-
Use the following recipe:
AVCO-CATALYST SIDP -3 – 10% o.w.g
Caustic – soda (50%) -1 – 3 cc/l
-
Raise temperature to 85 – 90°C and treat for 60 minutes.
-
-
Acidify with 1 – 1.5 g/l acetic acid (60%).
-
-
Re-dye the fabric to a darker shade.
-
Cleaning silicone deposits from jet dyeing machines.
-
-
Apply the following recipe:
AVCO-CATALYST SIDP -3 – 5 g/l
Caustic – soda (50%) -2 – 4 g/l
-
Treat at 85 – 90°C for 30 minutes neutralize with acetic acid.
-
Drop liquor and rinse with cold water.
