AVCO-COAT PRL-F

PEARLESCENT COMPOUND FOR TEXTILE COATING AND SPRAYING

AVCO-COAT PRL-F is an aqueous compound used for producing pearlescent coating and spraying effects on textile fabrics. The coat protects the fabric surface from scratching, abrasion and other mechanical forces along with a pearl luster appearance.
AVCO-COAT PRL-F can be tinted with various AVCO-LOR pigments to produce “silver”, “gold” and other coloured pearl luster effects.

PROPERTIES & USES:

1. AVCO-COAT PRL-F is producing an ivory film on white fabrics. When applied to pre-dyed fabric it is producing a “silver” effect.

2. AVCO-COAT PRL-F is producing a flexible film, which is resistant to washing and to dry cleaning.

3. The film can be tinted with aqueous organic pigment dispersions such as the AVCO-LOR pigment range.

4. AVCO-COAT PRL-F is an aqueous preparation, and does not release harmful gasses during the drying process.

5. AVCO-COAT PRL-F is suitable for coating all kinds of textile fabrics such as woven, non-woven and knitted fabrics, for uses such as curtaining fabrics, blinds, window shades, furnishing fabrics, bags, tarpaulins, camping fabrics and other technical items.

6. AVCO-COAT PRL-F is composed of very small size particles range, and can be applied by “doctor blade” system or by spraying equipments.

7. AVCO-COAT PRL-F is recommended for brushing on textile garments and denim articles.

APPLICATION:

1. Before application, the product can be tinted with any desirable aqueous pigment dispersion such as AVCO-LOR pigment range. The concentration of the pigments should not be above 5-6% when using European standard pigment concentrates.

2. When coating synthetic fabrics, add 1-2% of AVCO-PRINTFIX L to improve the washing fastness.

3. Filter to remove any dried particles.

4. For application by spraying on ready made garments, reduce the paste viscosity by mixing with water at the desired ratio. Spray on the required area of the textile article. Dry at 120-150°C, cure for 4-3 minutes at 150-160°C. It is possible to cure at higher temperatures (170-180°C) for a shorter curing time (2-1 minutes)

5. Coating is done with a doctor knife, rotary screen and other coating or brushing equipments. Dry the wet coat at 100-120°C and cure at 150-170°C for 2-3 min. In between, calandering process can be done if required.

6. If curing temperature higher than 140°C can not be reached, add 0.3-0.5% of AVCO-FIXATOR LTF, to improve the washing fastness. A paste containing AVCO-FIXATOR LTF should be used within the same day.

7. If needed the curing can be combined with a final finishing process such as oil and water repellent finish.

COATING RECIPES:

1. “Silver” printing

Add 0.2-2% of AVCO-LOR BLACK CH, homogenize with an high speed mixer.

2. “Ivory” effect

Use AVCO-COAT PRL-F as it is and print on white or light colour fabrics.

3. Colored pearl lustre effects:

Add 0.1-5% of AVCO-LOR pigments, homogenize with a high speed mixer.

4. “Gold” printing

Add 0.4 – 0.8% of AVCO-LOR YELLOW R, homogenize with a high speed mixer (1500-3000 r.p.m) and filter. The recipe can be modified with AVCO-LOR ORANGE G, AVCO-LOR BLACK CH and AVCO-LOR BROWN BGG according to the desired “GOLD” effect.
