AVCO-GEN PV

WASHING OFF, LEVELLING AND STRIPPING AGENT

AVCOGEN PV is a versatile chemical auxiliary used in dyeing, printing and dye stripping processes.AVCOGEN PV has excellent protective colloid properties, and prevents re-deposition of dyestuffs onto treated fabrics and garments. Due to its affinity to anionic sites on the dyestuff molecule, AVCOGEN PV improves levelling properties of anionic dyestuff.

SPECIFICATION:

Appearance Clear, yellowish liquid
Chemical nature Hydrophilic polymer solution
Compatibility Stable to alkalis and electrolytes. Sensitive to oxidizing agents.
Ionicity Nonionic
pH (of 10% sol.) 7 ± 1
Solubility Miscible with water at any ratio
Storage Stable for at least 12 months. Freezes at O°C. Fully useable after thawing and stirring.

PROPERTIES & USES:

  1. Excellent anti-redeposition agent for organic soil and residual dyestuffs.
  2. Recommended as an additive for dye stripping processes.
  3. Used for washing-off prints to avoid staining of white or light shade area.
  4. Used to avoid staining while scouring knits and woven fabrics, produced with dark
shade yarns in combination with white or light shade yarns.
  5. Used as a levelling agent for direct and vat dyes.

APPLICATION:

  1. STRIPPING DYESTUFFS
    • Stripping vats and sulphur dyestuffs:
For stripping dark shades from tightly wound packages use the following recipe:
      AVCO-CLEAN SUPER – 1 – 2 g/l
      AVCO-DISPERSANT NS – 1 – 2 g/l
      Caustic soda (50%) – 5 – 10 g/l
      Hydrosulfite – 5 – 6 g/l
      AVCOGEN PV – 3 – 5 g/l
Treat at 70-85°C for 45-60 min. at liquor ratio 1:20, followed by hot and cold rinse. For medium to pale shade AVCO-CLEAN SUPER can be omitted, and liquor ratio can be lowered.
    • Stripping direct dyes
      Use the following recipe:
      Hydrosulfite – 2g/l
      Caustic soda (50%) – 10 cc/l
      AVCOGEN PV -2 g/l
Treat at 50° C for 30-60 min. followed by rinsing.
    • Stripping reactive dyes
      Use the following recipe:
      Hydrosulfite – 5 g/l
      Caustic Soda (50%) – 10 cc/l
      AVCOGEN PV – 2 g/l
Treat at 70-80°C for 30-60 min. followed by hot and cold rinse.
  2. WASHING OFF PRINTS:

Addition of AVCOGEN PV to print wash baths prevents staining of white or light shade grounds.
Use 0.5-1.5 g/l AVCOGEN PV together with the recommended print wash detergents.

  3. LEVELLING
AVCOGEN PV can overcome levelling problems of dyestuffs containing anionic groups such as reactive, directs, vats etc.
    Following are some dyeing recipes:
    • Directs and reactives

Use 0.5 – 1% AVCOGEN PV for medium shades.
Use 1 – 1.5% AVCOGEN PV for light shades.
    • Vats
in difficult cases use the following recipe:
      AVCOGEN VAT 1 – 2 g/l
      AVCOGEN PV 0.1- 0.3 g/l
Do not over dose AVCOGEN PV due to its strong retarding effect.
  4. REDYEING OF GARMENTS
Garments dyed with directs, can be stripped with hydro/caustic bath. Addition of 2 g/l AVCOGEN PV improves very much the results.
With garments sensitive to reducing agents, or when stripping the dyestuffs to pale shade is adequate, use 2-3 g/l AVCOGEN PV in the treatment bath without Hydrosulfite.
AVCOGEN PV has no effect in hypochlorite and peroxide stripping baths.
