AVCO-GLOW PIGMENTS

RANGE OF FLUORESCENT PIGMENTS

AVCOGLOW is a range of fluorescent pigments, used in textile printing, coating and dyeing.
AVCOGLOW pigments offer outstanding brilliance and luminosity, and they will be utilized where an intense and/or long distance visibility are needed. Attention attracting effects are required in safety and warning clothing and signs, as well as in advertising and in fashion designs. AVCOGLOW fluorescent pigments combine a brilliant and high color strength with extremely fine particle size, allowing processing with all standard type equipment.AVCOGLOW fluorescent pigment range consist of the following main colours:
AVCOGLOW YELLOW AVCOGLOW GREEN AVCOGLOW ORANGE
AVCOGLOW PINK AVCOGLOW RED

PROPERTIES & USES:

  1. CHEMICAL NATURE AND APPEARANCE:

AVCOGLOW pigments are made of organic dyes dissolved in an inert polymer matrix,
    very
finely ground to small particles of the size of less than 3-5 microns, which are
dispersed in an aqueous, free flowing, slightly viscous liquid.
AVCOGLOW pigments are of anionic nature, and can be used in all types of aqueous
    printing, coating and dyeing systems.

  2. SOLUBILITY:

AVCOGLOW pigments can be dispersed in “all water” or “oil – in water” printing
    pastes.
The pigment itself is not soluble and does not bleed to water and to solvents
such as aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons and perchloroethylene, but can bleed
    into
alcohols and ketons. (For more detailed information please call AVCO
    laboratory).

  3. STORAGE:

    1. AVCOGLOW pigments are sensitive to frost.
    2. After long storage some separation may occur. Agitate well before use.
    3. After pigment has been partially taken out, the drum must be properly
    resealed to avoid drying.
    4. Shelf life is at least 12 months.

APPLICATION:

  1. Printing and coating:
AVCOGLOW fluorescent pigments are added to the extent of 5-15% on the weight to the printing/coating paste, with continuous mixing in homogenizing equipment.
The precise addition will be determined by the printing process and the desired colour strength.
For printing dark shades use the following recipe:

    Water – 600
    AVCOCLEAR NP – 25
    AVCO-PRINTOSIL EM – 15
    AVCO-PRINTFIX L – 10
    AVCO-BINDER SPC – 200
    AVCOGLOW – 150
    1 000

Print, dry and cure at 150°C for 3-5 minutes or at 180°C for 1-1.5 minutes.
Similar paste with a suitable viscosity is used also for coating.
  2. Dyeing:
Use same dyeing system, by padding or by exhaust as with AVCOLOR pigment range.
