PROPERTIES & USES:
- AVCOLACK BR is a printing paste with excellent optical hiding properties, designed
to
produce colored prints on dark grounds.
- Use of AVCOLACK BR with transparent pigments produces strong visible and bright
colored areas, even when printed on dark blacks and navy blues.
- White printing pastes, containing titanium-oxide are good opacifying pigments
with
excellent hiding power. But, these white pigments cause “fading out” of organic
pigments added to them, “reds” become pink and “blues” produce light blue.
Using
AVCOLACK BR does not affect much the orginal shade of the added pigment.
- The cured prints of AVCOLACK BR are flexible and have good rubbing and washing
fastness such as normal pigment prints.
APPLICATION:
-
Preparation of printing paste:
-
Add AVCOLOR PIGMENTS to AVCOLACK BR to receive the desired shade. Use 1-6% of AVCOLOR PIGMENT on weight of AVCOLACK BR. Stir well with an high speed mixer until the paste is homogeneous and sieve through a suitable filter.
-
If needed, increase viscosity with AVCO-CLEAR NP or decrease it with electrolytes (ammonium salts).
-
To improve wash fastness, mainly when printing synthetic fabrics, add 0.5-1.5% of AVCO-PRINTFIX L.
-
Printing
- AVCOLACK BR can be used with all types of printing machines. Use of medium “mesh” printing screens is recommended.
- After printing wash screens with a water stream.
-
Fixation
After printing and drying, a fixation process is necessary.
Curing conditions are 150°C/3 min. Fixation time can be reduced by increasing the temperature – 180°C/1-1.5 min.
-
Substrate
AVCOLOR BR can be printed on all types of colored textile fabrics that are stable to the curing temperatures. When printing on synthetics care must be taken to use a fabric which is dyed with dyestuffs that are fast to sublimation and migration.
