AVCOREZ ECO-CONC is a modified Glyoxal resin, used as a thermosetting resin, to produce durable crease resistance and dimensional stability to cellulosic and polyester cotton fabrics. AVCOREZ ECO-CONC is a very low free formaldehyde product, suitable for the Eco Standard application.

Stable at normal storage conditions for at least 12 months. |
PROPERTIES & USES:
- AVCOREZ ECO-CONC is used in applications such as “wash and wear”, “permanent-
press”, ” shrinkage control”, durable embossed and glazed effects of cellulosic
fibres.
- Imparts low formaldehyde levels on the treated fabrics, meeting ECO-TEX standards.
- AVCOREZ ECO-CONC is fully compatible with other thermosetting resins, fluoro-
carbons, hand builders, thermoplastics softeners, dye-fixatives, suitable
optical brighteners and all classes of organic and inorganic catalysts.
- Wash fastness of treated fabric to repeated laundries is excellent.
- Minimizes tendency to yellow.
- Light fastness of dyed or printed fabric with reactive dyes is not influenced by
AVCOREZ ECO-CONC.
- AVCOREZ ECO-CONC is suitable for “pre-cure” treatment, where high crease
resistance and good appearance are essential.
- AVCOREZ ECO CONC is suitable for application in one bath pigment dyeing and resin
finishing recipes.
- AVCOREZ ECO-CONC can be applied to knitted fabrics and to filament or spun woven
fabrics.
- Tensile strength loss caused by the resin is related to the quantity of product
applied. Co-application of AVCOREZ ECO-CONC and AVCOSOFT PE. (Polyethylene
emulsion) minimizes the loss in tensile strength.
- The hand of fabrics treated with AVCOREZ ECO-CONC is softer than fabrics treated
with U.F. or Melamin resins.
APPLICATION:
AVCOREZ ECO-CONC is applied by padding method as follows. Ensure that the fabric
is well prepared and neutralized correctly.
-
Padding
This is done normally at room temperature. Padding baths are prepared by simply diluting the resin with cold water and adding a catalyst and other finishing agents.
Adjust pick up to 70-100%. pH of the finishing bath should be adjusted to pH 4-5.
-
Drying
After padding the fabric is dried at 110-130°C to 8% moisture, or less. Stenter frame is recommended to provide the desired fabric dimensions and to avoid creases, that would be set in the fabric during the curing operation.
-
Curing
Cure at 145-155°C for 3 minutes or at 170-180°C for 30-40 seconds.
There is a possibility of high speed curing at higher temperatures, but it is not possible to give full details here since curing requirements vary with the type of fabric being processed and the efficiency of heat transfer in the curing equipment.
There is also the possibility for rapid curing via a single pass process combining
one step drying and curing. This is done by drying and curing at 165-175°C for 45-90 seconds.
-
Washing
This step is optional though it should be done for optimum results. The first washing is alkaline in order to neutralize the acidity developed by the catalyst thus avoiding formaldehyde odors. The washing is followed by final drying done on stenter frame.
-
Finishing formulations:
The quality of embossed and chintz finished fabric is greatly influenced by the residual moisture content of the fabric.
The padded fabric is dried to residual moisture level of:
Cotton6 – 10%.
Rayon staple8 – 14%.
calandering is then done at 160 – 200°C at pressure of 30 – 40 ton and followed by hot curing.
