AVCO-REZ MC-CONC

REACTIVE “DMDHEU” RESIN FOR THE MOIST CURING PROCESS.

AVCO-REZ MC CONC is a modified glyoxal resin, used as a thermosetting resin, to produce durable crease resistance and dimensional stability to cellulosic and polyester -cotton fabrics and garments by the MOIST CURING method.

AVCO-REZ MC CONC is recommended for producing permanenrt creases effects in ready made garments.

AVCO-REZ MC CONC is a very low free formaldehyde resin, suitable for the ÖkoTex Standard application.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Appearance Aqueous solution of modified dimethylol- dihydroxy-ethylene urea.

Solubility Miscible with water at any proportion.
pH (10% sol.) 7.5 –8.5
Density (g/cc) 1.13
Free Formaldehyde Less than 75 p.p.m. on the finished fabrics when properly cured.
Storage Stable at normal storage conditions for at least 12 months.

PROPERTIES:

1. AVCO-REZ MC CONC is used in applications such as “wash and wear”, “permanent-press”, ” shrinkage control”, durable embossed and glazed effects of cellulosic garments. The product is designed for application by the moist curing process. Optimal results are achieved in combination with AVCO-CATALYST HFM.

2. Imparts low formaldehyde levels on the treated fabrics, meeting ÖkoTex Standards.

3. AVCO-REZ MC CONC is fully compatible with other finishing agents such as fluorocarbons, hand builders and softeners.

4. The washing fastness of the treated garments to repeated laundries is excellent.

5. Minimal tendency to yellowing.

6. The light fastness of the dyed or printed fabrics with vat, sulphur, indigo and reactive dyes is not influenced by AVCO-REZ MC CONC.

7. AVCO-REZ MC CONC can be applied to knitted and woven fabrics.

8. The tensile strength loss caused by the resin is related to the quantity of the product applied. The application of AVCO-REZ MC CONC together with AVCO-SOFT PE. (Polyethylene emulsion) minimizes the loss in the tensile strength.

9. AVCO-REZ MC CONC is recommended for producing permanent creases in ready made garments to obtain a fashionable look. This can be done by dipping the garments in a solution of AVCO-REZ MC CONC and AVCO-CATALYST HFM or by local spraying of the garments with a solution of the products, followed by drying and immediately creating the desired creases by using a mechanical process, and finally fixing it at room temperature for 24 hours.

APPLICATION:

AVCO-REZ MC CONC is applied by dipping or spraying method as described below:

Ensure that the fabrics are well prepared and neutralized correctly before resin finishing.

The amount of the AVCO-CATALYST HFM should be 50% of the amount of the AVCO-REZ MC-CONC applied.

I. Dipping:

This is done at room temperature. The dipping bath is prepared by simply diluting the resin and the with cold water and adding a catalyst and other finishing agents.

Adjust pick up to 70-80%. Use the following recipe:

AVCO-REZ MC CONC 120 – 160 g/l

AVCO-CATALYST HFM 60 – 80 g/l

II. Spraying:

This is done by a local spraying of a treatment solution at a ratio of 2:1 of AVCO-REZ MC-CONC and AVCO-CATALYST HFM. The uptake of AVCO-REZ MC-CONC is of 12-16%.

After dipping or spraying apply the following processes:

I. Drying

Dry at 90-100°C to get a residual moisture of 8-10%

If required treat the garments mechnically in order to produces any required creases in the fabric.

II. Curing

Batch at room temperature for 20-24 hours.

III. Washing

This step should be done for optimum results. The first washing is alkaline in order to neutralize the acidity developed by the catalyst. Wash with 10 g/l soda ash at 40°C. The washing is followed by hot and cold rinse and final drying.

III. Permanent worn out look of cellulosic garments:

The garments are dipped in the treatment solution or treated in an industrial washing machine at 25-30°C using a liquor ratio of 1:6 – 1:10 for 10-20 minutes, followed by hydro-extraction in order to get an uptake of 80-100% on fabric weight. After tumble drying at 80-90°C, the garments are cured at room temperature for 20-24 hours and washed. The treatment liquor should be kept and re-used for several finishing cycles.

The composition of the treatment liquor should be:

AVCO-REZ MC-CONC 120 – 150 g/l

AVCO-CATALYST HFM 60 – 75 g/l
