AVCO-SON LL

OXIDIZING AGENT FOR PRINTING AND DYEING

AVCOSON LL is a mild organic oxidizing agent, used in printing and in dyeing processes,
to prevent reduction of sensitive dyestuffs by reducing agents, that can be found in treatment water, in steam vapors and in some chemical auxiliaries.
AVCOSON LL is also an excellent oxidizing agent for vat dyeing processes.

SPECIFICATION:

Appearance Clear, yellowish liquid.
Chemical nature Sodium salt of organic acid
Compatibility
  1. Is not compatible with acids, cationic products and with reducing agents.
  2. Compatible with anionic and nonionic products. Lab tests should be run before use.
  3. Compatible with alkalis.
Density App. 1.09 – 1.11 gr/cc
Ionicity Anionic
pH (10% sol.) 7.5 ± 0.5
Solubility Miscible with water at any ratio.
Storage Solidifies at O°C, fully reusable after thawing and stirring. Self life is 12 months at least.

PROPERTIES & USES:

  1. AVCOSON LL is a mild oxidizing agent.
  2. AVCOSON LL is a mobile liquid which can be metered as is without pre-dilution.
  3. In reactive printing of cellulosic fabrics, use of AVCOSON LL facilitates
production of uniform prints under varying steam conditions, and protects the
reactive dyes from adverse reduction effects.
  4. In reactive dyeing AVCOSON LL prevents shade variations of sensitive dyestuffs
caused by reduction due to unsuitable processing conditions (temperature, time,
    hot air and steam).
  5. When used as an oxidizing agent in vat dyeing, reproducibility of shade is
improved, appearance of oxidation stains is minimized, and rubbing fastness may
    often
    be better.

APPLICATION:

PROCEDURES AND RECIPES:
  1. Reactive dyestuff printing:

To the stock paste add 10-30 g/kg of AVCOSON LL (with synthetic thickeners it is possible to use half of the amount needed for Alginate thickener).

  2. Reactive dyestuff dyeing:

Use 2-5 g/l of AVCOSON LL in the dyeing liquor.

  3. Oxidation of vat dyestuffs in a fresh bath:
    • Drop the dyeing liquor
    • For dark and medium shade run an intermediate reductive rinse.
    • Fill the machine with fresh water, add 5-10 g/l AVCOSON LL and treat at 60-70°C, for 10-20 minutes.
    • Rinse hot and cold.
  4. Oxidation of vat dyestuffs in diluted bath:
On the winch or in jet dyeing machines, vat dyes can be oxidized in the diluted dye bath liquor, thus saving water and time.
    Use the following procedure:
    • The dyeing liquor is partially run off, and refilled with fresh water.
    • Add 5-10 g/l AVCOSON LL.
    • Treat at 60-70°C for 10-20 minutes.
    • Rinse hot and cold.
