AVCO-CID ACD

ACID BUFFER WITH COMPLEXING AND DISPERSING PROPERTIES

AVCOCID ACD is an organic pH regulator, with acidifying, buffering, complexing and dispersing properties.AVCOCID ACD is used mainly in dyeing with disperse dyes on polyester and polyester blends (polyester/cotton, polyester/viscose, polyester/wool) at atmospheric and HT conditions.

SPECIFICATION:

Appearance Brownish clear liquid
Chemical nature Blend of carboxylated organic acids, buffer salts, dispersing and complexing agents.
Compatibility
  1. Resistant to all chemicals normally encountered in disperse and acid dyestuff dyeing processes.
  2. Do not mix with alkaline compounds (exothermic reaction)
  3. Do not mix with cationic products.
Density 1.19 ± 0.03
Ionicity Anionic
Solubility Miscible with water at any ratio
Storage Freezes below O°C. Fully usable after thawing. Storage stability is at least 12 months.

FILM PROPERTIES:

  1. Use of AVCOCID ACD enables the pH to be adjusted between 4 and 6, and such
adjustments to be maintained during the entire dyeing process.
  2. Overcomes pH changes that may happen due to instability of pH in water supply, or
pH changes caused by the textile material and other chemicals used in the dyeing
    process.
  3. AVCOCID ACD has a remarkable dispersing capacity towards water hardness.
  4. AVCOCID ACD is acting as a protective colloid against re-deposition of soil
    released by the textile material.
  5. High complexing power towards Iron and Copper ions.
  6. Good complexing of Calcium and Magnesium.
  7. Does not complex metal ions included in the dyestuffs molecules.
  8. The dispersing and complexing capacities of AVCOCID ACD, are effective both in
the acid and in the alkaline range. This is significant when dyeing polyester,
polyamide and wool blends, where an acid pH is required in the first step, and an
    alkaline pH in the second.
  9. Use of AVCOCID ACD eliminates shade changes when dyeing with dyes sensitive to
    heavy metals.
  10. AVCOCID ACD is stable to hydrolysis at high temperature ranges.
  11. AVCOCID ACD is non-foaming.

APPLICATION:

AVCOCID ACD is a pour-able liquid, and can be dosed directly to the dyeing machine. The quantity of the addition mainly depends on the dyeing method.

Following are some dyeing recipes:

  1. HT dyeing polyester

    AVCOCID ACD (pH 4-5) 1 – 1.3 cc/l
    AVCONAL PLD 1 g/l
    disperse dyestuff X %

Dye for 30-45 min. at 120-130°C.

  2. Atmospheric dyeing machines:
    AVCOCID ACD 1 – 1.5 cc/l
    AVCOCAR CT2 – 6 g/l
    Disperse dyestuff X %
    SAFETY:
The product is acidic and should be handled with care.
Use safety goggles and gloves while using the product.
