AVCO-CID PHS

ACIDIC BUFFER FOR DYEING AND FINISHING

AVCOCID PHS is an acidic buffer used for adjusting acidic pH in dyeing and finishing processes, neutralizing alkaline bleaching and finishing baths as well as for adjusting a mild acidic pH to textile fabrics. SPECIFICATION: Appearance Clear, colourless liquid. Chemical nature Aqueous solution containing organic and inorganic buffers. Compatibility Is not compatible with alkaline products. Is not compatible with concentrate cationic products Density 1.15 – 1.20 pH (2 g/l) 4.5 – 5.5 Solubility Soluble in water at any ratio. Storage stability When stored in closed original packages, shelf life is at least 12 months PROPERTIES & USES: High buffering capacity at pH range of 4 – 6. Non – volatile acidic preparation. Does not cause any corrosion to the stenter or other machines. Liquid product, can be dosed with automatic dosing machines. Non-foaming at all. Non-flammable and non-toxic, with very low irritating effect due to the mild acidity. Non-corrosive to fibres sensitive to mineral acids. Used for neutralization of bleaching and finishing baths. Used in dyeing processes, when dyeing polyester, polyamide and wool, to maintain acidic pH at the range of 4 – 6. Used for adjusting an acidic pH at the range of 5-5.5 in anti-pilling and stone- wash finishing processes with acid-cellulase preparations. Used to maintain acidic pH of bleached and finished fabrics such as fabrics which has to stand in the ECO – TEX 100 standard, and when yellowing problems may occur. The pH of the treated fabrics does not change even when stored for a long time. APPLICATION: Before use, pre–dilute AVCOCID PHS with cold water. The application quantities depends on the water quality and the desired pH. Neutralizing of alkaline baths In discontinuous process, (winch, jet, jigger) apply 0.25 – 1 gr/l. Softening of full white cellulosic knits Apply 0.25 – 1 gr/l together with the softener. Dyeing Polyester with disperse dyes Apply 0.5 – 1.5 gr/l in the dyeing bath. Dyeing Acid dyes Use 1 – 2 gr/l in the dyeing liquor. Dosing in the last compartment of a continuous washing range AVCOCID PHS can be added undiluted to the last compartment of the washing range via a dosing pump, controlled by a pH meter, to keep the liquor at pH 5 – 5.5. Acidic finish on the padding machine Pad the fabric with 1 – 2 gr/l of AVCOCID PHS followed by drying in the stener. Application of acid – cellulase enzyme preparations To the finishing bath add 0.5-1.5 gr/l AVCOCID PHS before adding the enzyme, to maintain acidic pH range of 5-5.5 during the process. SAFETY: The product is acidic and should be handled with care. Use safety goggles and gloves when using the product.
