SPECIFICATIONS:

PROPERTIES & USES:1. AVCO-FINISH PMM is used for producing polyester fabrics of higher quality by enhancing, on a durable basis, the properties of polyester fabric that are appreciated by the consumer such as:a. Increases wearing comfort:

The garment will absorb the body perspiration readily and will transfer the sweat from the human skin throughout the treated fabric outside to the air. AVCO-FINISH PMM also imparts a soft handle to the treated fabrics.

b. Anti-static effect:

AVCO-FINISH PMM minimizes the build-up of static charges in the treated garment and, therefore, reduces the clinging effect. The pickup of airborne dust is also reduced.

c. Lowers soil re-deposition during repeated laundries:

Remarkably reduces the dull effect that usually occurs due to re-deposition of dirt onto the garments during repeated domestic washings.

d. Soil release effect on synthetic fibres.

The removal of oily or greasy stains by domestic washing is made much easier. AVCO-FINISH PMM is an excellent finish for table cloth made out of polyester.

2. AVCO-FINISH PMM is versatile in application, either in batch-wise by exhaust process or in continuous by padding methods.

3. The finish is resistant to mild washing.

4. The cost of the application is limited to the chemical cost no extra processing stages are required.

5. AVCO-FINISH PMM imparts to the fabric better cutting and sewing performance.

6. It is non-foaming.

7. The product is not causing any shade changes or yellowing of white fabrics.

8. Can be applied together with hydrophilic softeners and with crease resistant resins.

9. Highly recommended for finishing fashion wear made from micro-fibres.

APPLICATION:

The amount of AVCO-FINISH PMM and the optimum conditions of application, varies depending on the goods being processed, the machinery used and, most importantly, the effect required. However 2-6% on weight of the goods are sufficient.

Before the application of AVCO-FINISH PMM, the textile should be free of any residual hydrophobic substances.

The product should be pre-diluted with warm water before use.

a. Application in the polyester dye-bath:

This method applies to both high temperature dyeing and to carrier dyeing at the boil.

AVCO-FINISH PMM is diluted under continuous stirring with four times its volume of warm water.

Apply 2 – 6% on weight of the fibres.

The diluted AVCO-FINISH PMM is added to the dye-bath at 40°C or below and the dye-bath is adjusted to the pH at which the dyeing is carried out (normally pH 4- 5). Raise the temperature to 50-70°C and hold for 5 –10 minutes to ensure exhaustion of the AVCO-FINISH PMM onto the goods.

Add the leveling agent, run for 5 minutes and add the pre-diluted disperse dyes. Dyeing is carried out as normal.

AVCO- FINISH PMM is stable to the reductive clearing process.

b. Application in the rinsing bath after dyeing or bleaching (jet, winch, beam dyeing machines etc.)

Apply 2 – 6% on fabrics weight.

The bath should be kept acidic throughout the treatment (pH 4 – 5).

AVCO-FINISH PMM should be pre- diluted with warm water before use. Add to an acidified bath at 40°C or below.

The treatment is started and the temperature is raised to 60-70°C and held there for 20 minutes.

c. Application by continuous padding procedures.

Padding with 20-60 g/l AVCO-FINISH PMM is carried out in an acidic bath (pH 4 – 5). Drying is done at usual conditions.

Curing at 130-170°C may influence the wet fastness of some sensitive disperse dyestuffs. Mild wash-off process after curing and drying (at 110-130°C) will eliminate that problem.

AVCO-FINISH PMM can be used on polyester prints. The best method is padding (wet on dry or wet on wet) followed by drying at 110-130°C.

AVCO-FINISH PMM improves the absorbency of resin treated materials such as Poly-cotton blends. The product is compatible with most resins used for easy-care and permanent press finishing.

REMARKS:

1. AVCO-FINISH PMM should not be applied together with softeners that have a water repellent effect.
2. The dyestuff selection is also very important. In case of fastness problems with migrating dyestuffs, the exhaust process is to be preferred.

3. When working by the pad method, the liquor in the feed tank should be kept in continuous motion.
4. In case of finishing bleached fabrics treated with optical brightener, the whiteness may be impaired by the finishing process. Pre-test in the lab is recommended.
