AVCO-FIX FFC

FORMALDEHYDE FREE FIXING AGENT

After treatment agent free from formaldehyde, for improving the wet fastness properties of dyeing on cellulosic fibres with reactive dyes.
The wet fastness properties of medium and dark shades with reactive dyes can be improved by an after treatment with AVCOFIX FF. This applies especially to the water and perspiration fastness.
Reactive dyes are not always adequately rinsed and soaped because of the respective facilities or to save energy and time. In this case the normal fastness standard can be obtained by an after-treatment with AVCOFIX FF.

PROPERTIES & USES:

  1. Improves wet fastness and perspiration fastness of the reactive dyeings.
  2. The light fastness and the fastness to wet fading is not effected or only
    slightly.
  3. No fishy odor by the formation of methylamine.
  4. Free from formaldehyde
  5. The dyeing shows moderate fastness to chlorinated water
  6. Can be applied together with softeners and resins.

APPLICATION:

  1. EXHAUST PROCESS
AVCOFIX FF can be applied in the exhaust process. The dyed fabric should be well rinsed before the after treatment with this product to avoid precipitations with residues of anionic wetting and dyeing auxiliaries.
After the treatment with AVCOFIX FF any excess of the product on the dyeing should be removed by a cold rinsing bath, if possible. This will have a favorable effect on the light and wet fading fastness and possibly prevent shade changes in the case of metal-containing reactive dyes.
The pH of the after-treatment bath should be between 5 and 6, and the after-treatment temperature should be increased to 40 – 50°C. Treat for 20 minutes. Dosage recommendation: 1-3% AVCOFIX FF used on the fabric weight.
  2. PAD PROCESS
The material which was dyed, soaped and dried is padded with 10-30 gr/l AVCOFIX FF followed by drying. The pH of the liquor should be slightly acid. In wet on wet padding processes increase concentration according to pick up.

  3. CONTINUOUS WASHING PROCESS
Fabrics dyed with reactive dyes which are soaped in a continuous washing machine, the after treatment process can be simplified by applying AVCOFIX FF in the final washing box.
The following procedure can be taken as a guide:
Final compartment- Treat with 20-30 gr/l AVCOFIX FF at 30-40°C, pH 5-6.

Feeding liquor- 1 – 3% ( calculated on the weight of goods passing through the machine).

  4. STRIPPING
To correct faulty dyeings, AVCOFIX FF must be removed from goods before redyeing. Use the following procedure:
    AVCO-DISPERSANT NS 2-3 gr/l
    Formic acid 2-4 cc/l
Treat for 30-40 min. at 90-95°C.
    Rinse well and neutralize.
