AVCO-FLAM PES

PERMANENT FIRE RETARDANT FOR POLYESTER

AVCOFLAM PES is a wash-resistant fire retardant based on non-toxic organo-phosphorous derivative. The flame proof results are outstanding, with no adverse effect on the handle and appearance of the treated fabric.AVCOFLAM PES can be used also with other types of fibres, but pre-trial should be carried out before use.

PROPERTIES & USES:

  1. AVCOFLAM PES is an excellent fire retardant for all types of polyester articles.
  2. When properly cured the finish is resistant to repeated laundry cycles.
  3. No adverse effect on light fastness, washing fastness and rubbing fastness, when
applied to pre-dyed or printed fabrics.
  4. AVCOFLAM PES has no effect on thermo-migration of dyed or printed fabrics, and
therefore, there is no change of colour in the treated textiles.
  5. Very good dry cleaning fastness properties.
  6. No adverse effect on tensile strength and dimension stability of the treated
    fabric.
  7. No adverse effect on the handle of the treated fabrics.
  8. AVCOFLAM PES is not toxic, and can be applied to fabrics in close touch
    with the human skin.
  9. AVCOFLAM PES can be used also for other types of synthetic fibres such as
polyamide and polyacrylics. Pre-trials in the lab are required.

APPLICATION:

  1. AVCOFLAM PES is applied to the treated fabrics by the padding method.
  2. The treated fabrics should be pre-washed from any residues of lubricants, sizing material and other finishing agents.
  3. After padding the fabric should be dried at 100-120°C and cured at 190-205°C for 1-2 minutes (on polyester fabrics).
  4. For best results the fabric should be rinsed after curing and dried, in order to wash-out any residues of active material which did not difuse into the fibres.
  5. When applied to polyamide fabrics, the curing can be done at lower temperatures of 165-180°C.
  6. DOSAGE:

Dosage recommendation of AVCOFLAM PES is 100-400 gr/l, depending on type of fabric and on pick up. Pretrials in the laboratory are recommended.
REMARKS:
AVCOFLAM PES has no influence on the shade of most of the dyestuffs, but variations may occur due to the high temperature of the heat setting needed.
This may occur due to the sensitivity of some dyestuffs or the textile fibres to elevated
temperatures.
