AVCO-PAL BN

VERSATILE NONIONIC, LOW FOAMING DETERGENT

AVCOPAL BN is a nonionic, low foaming surfactant, developed for use in jet machines, and high speed padding operations, for all kinds of textiles.
AVCOPAL BN possesses excellent wetting, emulsifying and washing effect. It can be used in practically all pH ranges encountered in textile pretreatment, dyeing and finishing.

SPECIFICATION:

Appearance Clear, colourless liquid
Chemical nature Blend of poly- ethoxylated long chain alcohols.
Compatibility
  1. Compatible with all chemicals, commonly used in textile pretreatment and dyeing.
  2. Compatible with hard water, mild acids and alkalis.
Ionicity Nonionic
pH (10% sol.) 7 ± 0.5
Solubility Miscible with water at any ratio.
Storage Freezes at O°C. Fully usable after thawing and stirring. Shelf life is at least 12 months.

PROPERTIES & USES:

  1. Composed of a blend of nonionic surfactants with a wide range of applications,
    such as
wetting, emulsifying, cleaning and dispersing effects.
  2. Suitable for all kinds of textile fibres.
  3. Stable to a wide pH range and to all kinds of anionic and cationic auxiliaries.

APPLICATION:

  1. Nonionic detergent for all kinds of preparation machines such as winches, jiggers, rotary machines and continuous ranges.
    General concentration required:
    For exhaustion processes 0.5 – 2g/l
    For continuous processes 1 – 3g/l

  2. AVCOPAL BN is particularly recommended as wetting agent for enzymatic de-sizing. The efficiency of the enzymes is not impaired in any way. Penetration to the textile material with the de-sizing liquor is accelerated and loosening of the decomposed starch is facilitated.
    Concentration required: 1 – 3 g/l AVCOPAL BN
  3. Because if its outstanding dispersing and emulsifying properties, AVCOPAL BN is highly recommended for pre-cleaning, scouring and washing. Oily and greasy contaminations, preparations and pigment soils of all kinds are removed easily. AVCOPAL BN can be applied in neutral, alkaline or acid liquors.
    Typical formulation:
    • Scouring of cotton and blends.

      AVCOPAL BN 0.5 – 2g/l
      Soda ash 1 – 2g/l
Treat at 90-95°C for 15-30 min.

    • Scouring of polyester and other synthetics.
It is advantageous to wash man-made fibres and textiles based on these with AVCOPAL BN together with the addition of condensed phosphates.
      AVCOPAL BN 0.5 – 2g/l
      AVCO-POLYQUEST KAL 1 – 2g/l
Treat at 70-80°C for 15-30 min.
  4. AVCOPAL BN is particularly suitable for removing cationic preparations from man-made fibres. This is preferably carried out prior to fixation.
  5. During kier-boiling and desizing, AVCOPAL BN loosens waxes contained in the grey cotton, emulsifies them and disperses the pigment soil and decomposition products of the husks. Staining during kier-boiling is thus avoided. Depending on the quality of the cotton.
Use 1 – 2 g/l AVCOPAL BN in combination with the usual amount of alkali.
  6. AVCOPAL BN is recommended for use when dyeing acrylic fibres with cationic dyestuffs. Adding 0.5 – 1.5 g/l AVCOPAL BN to the dyeing bath prevents contamination of machine walls with dyestuff residues. Cleaning of dyeing machine when changing from dark shades to light shade is much easier.
