PRINTING PASTE FOR “GOLD AND SILVER” PRINTING DESIGNS

AVCO-PLASTOPRINT PU is a ready made paste for printing Bronze and Aluminum powders on textile fabric, to receive “Gold and Silver” imitations.

SPECIFICATION:

Appearance	Viscous, white paste.
Chemical nature	Acrylic polymer dispersion in water with special additives.
Compatibility	Can be mixed with all products used in pigments printing.
Film properties	Flexible, colorless soft film, needs curing at elevated temperature.
Ionicity	Anionic
pH (as is)	7 ± 1
Solubility	Can be dispersed in water at any ratio.
Storage	Product is sensitive to frost. Store at temperature above 3°C. Do not store in direct sun. When properly stored, stable for at least 12 months.
Viscosity	60 – 70 poise (Haake viscosimeter)

APPLICATION:

For preparation of “gold” or “silver” printing paste use the following recipes:

“GOLD” “SILVER”

AVCO-PLASTOPRINT PU820 – 900 AVCO-PLASTOPRINT PU 950 – 850
BRONZE POWDER 180 – 100 ALUMINUM POWDER 50 – 150
1000 1000

Add the Bronze or Aluminum powder to the AVCO-PLASTOPRINT PU slowly while stirring with homogenizer type mixer (same as used for pigment printing paste). Filter, print, dry and cure in the same procedures as with regular pigment printing.

REMARKS:

Fixation time should be 3-5 minutes at 150-160°C or 1.5-2 minutes at 170-180°C.
To improve wash fastness add 5-10 gr/kg AVCO-PRINTFIX L.
AVCO-PLASTOPRINT PU can be used also with copper powders.
“Gold” colour can be tinted by adding 0.5-5 gr/kg AVCOLOR YELLOW, ORANGE and BROWN pigments.
Ready made Bronze or Aluminum pastes should not be stored more than 4-5 hours before printing.
Printed fabric should be dried immediately after printing and should not be stored wet.
Viscosity of PLASTOPRINT PU can be controlled by adding AVCO-CLEAR NP to increase viscosity, or by a adding diammonium – phosphate (0.5-2 g/kg) to decrease viscosity.
Finess of screen depends upon the type of Bronze/Aluminum powder used for printing.
When drums of AVCO-PLASTOPRINT PU are stored for long time, the product should be kept with a tightly closed cover.
Ready made Bronze and Aluminum pastes should be prepared exactly for the needed printing run. Residues of metal paste may be oxidized during long storage time.
