AVCO-POLYQUEST FCE

COMPLEXING AND DISPERSING AGENT WITH IRON SPECIFITY

AVCO-POLYQUEST FCE is an antiscaling and complexing agent used for the alkaline pretreatment, bleaching and mercerizing of processes. It contains a special additive to complex iron ions in treatment baths which are high alkaline. AVCO-POLYQUEST FCE is based on a unique combination of complexing agents, dispersants and protective colloids. Apart of Iron complexing it is complexing and dispersing Calcium, Magnesium and other heavy metals and prevents precipitation onto the textile fibres and machine parts.

SPECIFICATION:

Appearance Slightly yellowish, clear liquid.
Chemical nature Aqueous solution of neutralized polycarboxylic acids and polyhydroxy acids.
Compatibility
  1. Resistant to strong alkali, silicates, oxidizing agent and reducing agent normally encountered in pretreatment procedures.
  2. Is not compatible with concentrated acids and cationics.
Density (gr/cc) App. 1.15
Ionicity Anionic
pH (1% sol.) 9 ± 1
Solubility Miscible with water at any ratio.
Storage Stable for at least 12 months.

PROPERTIES & USES:

  1. Improves primary detergency, by synergistic action. AVCO-POLYQUEST FCE increases
efficiency of detergents used in the pretreatment procedure.
  2. Improves the secondary detergency, by preventing soil re-deposition on treated
    fabric in the scouring process.
  3. Excellent complexing capacity towards Iron ions even in very alkaline pH values.
  4. Used for de-mineralization of cotton, and hence reducing catalytic damages to
    fibres during bleaching.
  5. Stable to all chemicals used in cotton and cotton blends pretreatment, such as
    strong alkali, persulphate, hydrogen-peroxide etc.
  6. Very good action in cold pad batch bleaching and hot bleaching (continuous and
    batch type processes).
  7. Eliminates deposits of water hardness from machine parts and from heat-exchangers.
  8. Non-foaming at all.

APPLICATION:

AVCO-POLYQUEST FCE is a mobile liquid, and can be metered directly to the treatment liquor. The application quantities are the following:

1. High liquor ratio bleaching process with hydrogen-peroxide:

use 0.5 – 2 g/l AVCO-POLYQUEST FCE

2. Cold pad batch bleaching:

use 1 – 4 g/l AVCO-POLYQUEST FCE

3. Hot continuous bleaching with hydrogen-peroxide:

use 1 – 5 g/l AVCO-POLYQUEST FCE

4. Alkaline boiling off continuously:

use 1 – 5 g/l AVCO-POLYQUEST FCE

5. Alkaline boiling-off and bleaching discontinuously:

use 0.5 – 1.5 g/l AVCO-POLYQUEST FCE
6. Demineralization of cotton fabrics:
Use 1-3 g/l AVCO-POLYQUEST FCE together with 2-4 g/l.
Oxalic acid, followed by rinsing.
7. Mercerizing
Use 1-5 g/l in the alkaline mercerizing bath.
