SOFT POLYMER FOR ABRASION RESISTANCE FINISHING

AVCO-PRET SPU is a self cross-linking soft polymer, suitable for finishing of textile fabrics by padding methods and by exhaust processes.

AVCO-PRET SPU is producing very soft elastic films, and is recommended as a finishing agent to improve abrasion resistance and anti-pilling behavior of the treated fabrics.

The finishing effect is wash fast to many repeated laundry cycles.

PROPERTIES & USES:

1. AVCO-PRET SPU is a soft cross-linking and forms highly elastic film without addition of special catalysts.

2. AVCO-PRET SPU has very good running properties on padding and coating equipment.

3. AVCO-PRET SPU has good compatibility with all types of catalysts and resins used in textile finishing.

4. The binder film when cured, is very clear, and does not impair colour brightness.

5. It can be used with all types of textile fibres and blends.

6. The cured film has a hydrophilic nature.

7. Fabrics treated with AVCO-PRET SPU have a soft and full handle, with good fastness to light, washing and rubbing.

8. Highly recommended for anti-pilling finish and for improving the abrasion resistance of finished fabrics.

9. AVCO-PRET SPU can be applied as a binder to bond many kinds of micro-encapsulated finishes to textile fabrics.

10. Excellent soil release effects are realized because of the combination of the hydrophilic and the cross-linking properties of AVCO-PRET SPU film.

APPLICATION:

To achieve the best possible finishing effect, it is essential for the fabric to be given a thorough pretreatment including de-sizing, boiling-off or bleaching and rinsing to get an uniform absorbency. The fabric should be finished neutral or slightly acidic.

1. Resin finishing with improved anti-pilling effect:

AVCO-REZ ECO CONC 40 – 60 g/l

AVCO-CATALYST PMC 12 – 18 g/l

AVCO-PRET SPU 40 – 60 g/l

AVCO-ELASTOGUM 100 10 – 30 g/l

Acetic acid (60%) 0.2- 0.5 g/l

Drying:

The padded fabrics are dried in the frame-stenter. Care should be taken to ensure that the drying is uniform.

Fixation:

After drying the goods are subjected to dry heat curing treatment. The fixation conditions depend on the type and quality of the fabrics, and the type of machines.

The usual temperature-time relationship re as follows:

4 – 5 minutes at 150°C

3 – 4 minutes at 160°C

2 – 3 minutes at 170°C

1 – 2 minutes at 180°C

Drying / fixation can be done in one path at elevated temperatures.

2. Improving pilling / rubbing fastness and the abrasion resistance:

Pad or dip at room temperature with the following recipe:

AVCO-PRET SPU 20 – 40 g/l

AVCO-LUB HLA 5 – 30 g/l (optional)

Liquor pick-up : 70 – 90%. Hydro-extracting / Drying -as usual

Fixation: 2 -3 min at 130°C or 30 seconds at 180°C or in between.
