AVCO-PRINTOSIL EM

SILICONE SOFTENER FOR PIGMENT PRINTING AND DYEING
AVCO-PRINTOSIL EM is a silicon softener and plasticizer used for softening binder films in textile pigment printing and dyeing processes.The product does not contain any volatile additives and is not air-polluting at all.

SPECIFICATION:

Appearance Milky white emulsion.
Chemical nature Silicone polymer emulsified in water
Compatibility Stable to all chemicals normally used in textile pigment printing and dyeing.
Ionicity Nonionic
pH (10% sol.) 7 ± 1
Solubility Can be mixed with water at any ratio.
Storage Sensitive to frost. When properly stored, shelf life is 12 months at least.

PROPERTIES & USES:

  1. Excellent softening effect on all types of binders.
  2. AVCO-PRINTOSIL EM is chemically inert, and can be combined with all types of chemicals
    used in pigment printing and dyeing.
  3. AVCO-PRINTOSIL EM increases the dry rubbing fastness of pigment prints and pigment
    dyed fabrics, without impairing the wet fastness, if used in the proper amounts.
  4. AVCO-PRINTOSIL EM improves very much the smoothness and the flexibility of the binder
    films, even when incorporating high amounts of inorganic pigments such as Titanium-
    Oxides, silicates and carbonates.
  5. AVCO-PRINTOSIL EM increases the brightness of pigment prints and pigment dyed fabrics.
  6. AVCO-PRINTOSIL EM is suitable as a nonionic softener for all types of textiles. It
    improves hand, smoothness and sew-ability of treated fabrics.

APPLICATION:

  1. Printing

    AVCO-PRINTOSIL EM is added to the printing paste after incorporation of the thickener. Use an high speed homogenizer type mixer.

    Usage:

    • For regular pigment printing, to improve softening and dry rubbing fastness use 5-15 gr/Kg.
    • For improving hand of fashion knits use 10-30 gr/Kg.
    • For improving hand of prints made with AVCOLOR WHITES and
      AVCOLACK BR use 10-40 gr/Kg.
    • Excess quantities of AVCO-PRINTOSIL EM can improve the hand of printed fabric even more, but wet fastness should be evaluated.
  2. Pigment dyeing

    To the pigment dyeing recipe add 10-30 g/l of AVCO-PRINTOSIL EM.

  3. Finishing

    To improve sewability and lubricity add 10-40 g/l of AVCO-PRINTOSIL EM to the finishing bath.
