ECONOMIC COLD SOLUBLE CATIONIC SOFTENER
AVCO-SOFT CS-100 FLK is a cationic softener in flakes form used for softening all kinds of fibres, yarns, fabrics and garments. AVCO-SOFT CS-100 FLK imparts a soft handle with high surface smoothness. It is highly recommended for finishing garments and denim articles in laundry machines.
AVCO-SOFT CS-100 FLK improves the fastness of denim fabrics toward ozone fading.

Storage Freezes at 0°C, fully usable after thawing and mixing. When properly stored, the storage time is at least 12 months

PROPERTIES & USES1. AVCO-SOFT CS-100 FLK produces a full, soft, non-greasy handle on all fibres mainly those made out of cellulose and its blends.

2. AVCO-SOFT CS-100 FLK is an highly concentrated softener, produced in flakes, which are easily dissolved in cold water.

3. AVCO-SOFT CS-100 FLK provides good anti-static effect to synthetics and to their blends.

4. Good lubricity is imparted to the treated yarns.

5. Can be used in resin finishing baths.

6. Excellent napping and brushing aid.

7. Recommended for softening garments and denim articles in rotary washers.

8. Improve fastness of indigo dyed fabrics toward ozone fading problems.

APPLICATION:

AVCO-SOFT CS-100 FLK can be applied by padding and by exhaustion methods.

Dosage is in the range of 0.2 – 0.6% on the weight of the textile.

Before adding it to the treatment bath dissolve the product in water.

Prepare a 10% dilution by mixing 1 part of product with 9 parts of water with mild agitation, let stand over night and re-mix to obtain a smooth solution.

It is possible to produce the 10%solution in a quick dissolving procedure by dissolving it in warm water at 40 – 60c.

A. Application by exhaustion:

Adjust the pH to 5-5.5 with acetic acid. Add the 10% aqueous dilution of AVCO-SOFT CS-100 FLAKES. Run for 20-30 minutes at 30-40°C.

B. Application by padding:

Apply 30-60 g/l of the 10% aqueous dilution depending on the pick-up and the required handle.

Following are some typical recipes:

In all recipes always apply 10% dilution of the concentrated flakes. In the recipes the quantity of the softener is presented in the undiluted quantity.

1. Softening cotton yarns:

AVCO-SOFT CS-100 FLK 0.3 – 0.6 %

Adjust pH to 5.0 – 5.5 with acetic acid

Run at 40 – 45°C for 20 min.

2. Finishing wool garments in a paddle machines:

AVCO-SOFT CS-100 FLK 0.2 – 0.8 %

Adjust pH to 5 – 6 with acetic acid

Run at 40°C for 20 min.

3. Super soft finish of cotton knits:

AVCO-SOFT CS-100 FLK 0.5 – 1.0 %

AVCO-ELASTOSIL JWH 0.5 – 1.5%

Adjust pH to 4.5 – 5.5 with acetic acid.

Run at 40 – 45°C for 20 min.

4. Finishing viscose fabrics in padding process:

AVCO-SOFT CS-100 FLK 3 – 6 g/l

Pad and dry at 120 – 140°C.

5. Denim finishing:

AVCO-SOFT CS-100 FLK 0.2 – 0.8%

Adjust to pH 4.5 – 5.5 with acetic acid.

Run at 40°C for 10-15 minutes.
