AVCO-SOL 384

CONCENTRATED ONE BATH “SCOUR/DYE” DETERGENT

AVCOSOL 384 is a non-toxic, high flash-point (above 50°C), solvent based scouring agent containing a blend of low foaming surfactants, and possessing emulsifying anti-soil redeposition properties.
AVCOSOL 384 is a special auxiliary-which enables one bath scouring and dyeing techniques. AVCOSOL 384 can be used as a scouring agent, dyeing and bleaching auxiliary on fibres, hanks, packages and fabrics of cotton and synthetics fibres.
AVCOSOL 384 is composed of biodegradable ingredients with no potential for bio-accumulation, and with no evolution of toxic compounds during biodegradation.

PROPERTIES & USES:

  1. Excellent detergency, wetting, emulsifying and dispersing properties.
  2. Good soil suspending properties, which can prevent any re-deposition of soil on
    dyed
    fabric through all dyeing cycle.
  3. Stable to high temperature, even at H.T. conditions.
  4. Low foaming, can be used in jet machines.
  5. Has no retarding effect on reactive, acid, direct and disperse dyestuffs.
  6. AVCOSOL 384 is very versatile. Due to its excellent detergency it can be used in
    many
wet processes such as bleaching, pretreatment, machine cleaning, soaping etc.

APPLICATION:

Due to its wide versatility, AVCOSOL 384 has a number of important uses for scouring and dyeing as follows:
  1. Cotton and blends:

Before the dyeing or printing of cotton goods, it is common practice to pre-boil or bleach the material in an alkali medium to improve the absorbency. It has been found that the inclusion of AVCOSOL 384 to the bath enables good wetting out of the material and aids to remove waxes and impurities.
AVCOSOL 384 can be successfully incorporated into a hydrogen peroxide bleach bath.
AVCOSOL 384 is recommended for jet dyeing machines as one bath “scour dye” auxiliary.
    Dosage recommendation:
    • Alkaline pre-treatment 0.5 – 1.0g/l
    • Pre – scouring 0.5 – 1.0g/l
    • Bleaching0.5 – 1.0g/l
    • Dyeing 0.5 – 1.0g/l
  2. Polyester and blends
AVCOSOL 384 can be used with advantage in jet dyeing machines as one bath scour/dye auxiliary. A typical cycle for bulked polyester piece goods is as follows:
    1. Load the machine, run for 3-5 minutes to remove water soluble and emulsifiable matter and drop the bath.
    2. Adjust the bath to pH 5-5.5 add a sequestering agent and an anti-foaming agent if required.
    3. Raise temperature to 40°C and add AVCOSOL 384. ( 0.5 – 1.0 g/l)
    4. Increase temperature to 60° C and add the dyestuffs.
    5. After circulating, raise temperature to 125-130° C and dye to shade.
    Dosage recommendation:
    • Pre scouring to remove lubricants. Use 0.5 – 1.0 g/l
    • “Scour dyeing” of bulked polyester fabric in a jet dyeing machine, air injection beam, pressurized winch, overflow, kier, etc.
      Use:0.5 – 1.0 g/l.
    • “Scour dyeing” of bulked polyester fabric in an atmospheric machine e.g. winch.
      Use: 0.5 – 1.0 g/l
    • Cleaning of machines (winch, jet, kier, overflow)
      Use:1 – 2 g/l
  3. POLYAMIDE
AVCOSOL 384 can be used effectively for the scour/dyeing of bulked polyamide stockings and other polyamide articles.

    Quantity recommendation:

    • Scour/dyeing bulked polyamide hosiery
      Use:0.5 -1.5 g/l.
    • Piece dyeing of polyamide carpets in winches
      Use:1 – 1.5 g/l.
  4. Wool and Blends
During scouring of wool fabrics made from woolen or worsted spun yarn, problems may occur due to incomplete removal of spinning oil or wool grease, leaving the fabric with a high residual oil content. It has been found that the addition of AVCOSOL 384 to the normal scour assists the removal of this oil and grease, especially where the blend is composed of recovered materials or the scouring is carried out in open width. In extremely difficult cases where a double scour is necessary, AVCOSOL 384 can be added to both baths.
    Temperature of 40 – 50°C is required.
    Dosage recommendations:
    • Scouring of wool fabric in paddle machines.
      Use:0.5 – 1.5 g/l
    • Hank dyeing of hard twist carpet yarns.
      Use:1.0% o.w.f.
    • De-greasing and hank dyeing.
      Use: 0.5 – 1.0 g/l
  5. Machine cleaning
Excellent results can be achieved with 1 gr/l AVCOSOL 384
together with 2 gr/l Caustic Soda.
    Treat for 20 minutes at 130° C.

  6. Peroxide bleaching of cotton and cotton blends
    1. Fill machine with water.
    2. Add 0.5 -1.0 g/l AVCOSOL 384
      1.0 -2.0 g/l AVCOSLIP LB (anticreasing agent)
    3. Load fabric and treat for 5-10 minutes.
    4. To the same liquor add the bleaching auxiliaries, and start the bleaching process.
Use the following recipe for full bleach:
      AVCO-BLANKINOL VLF 3-4g/l
      H2O2 (50%) 6-8cc/l
      AVCOLUX CBA-100 0.5-1.0%
    5. Treat for 45-60 minutes at 90-95°C, followed by hot and cold rinse.
