AVCO-SON DNL

NEUTRAL CELLULASE FOR DENIM STONE-WASHING AND FOR BIO-POLISHING

AVCOSON DNL is a liquid neutral cellulase enzyme preparation, which is used for receiving decoloration effect on jeans/denim garments and fabrics as a substitute to the “stone-wash” process traditionally used with special abrasion stones. It can be used also together with a brasion stones in a lower load.
AVCOSON DNL is recommended for the bio-polishing process. AVCOSON DNL is decomposing fine cellulose fibres from the fabric surface, the result is a softer fabric with a smooth appearance and reduced pilling problems during subsequent washing processes.
AVCOSON DNL is superior to acidic cellulase preprarations with respect to indigo back staining problems.

SPECIFICATION:

Appearance Clear, brown liquid.
Chemical nature Engineered neutral cellulase enzyme in aqueous preparation.
Compatibility Can be used at a pH range of 6
pH (1% sol.) 5.5 – 6.5
Solubility Soluble in water at any ratio.
Storage Keep in cool and dry place in tightly closed packages. When properly stored shelf life is at least 12 monthes.

PROPERTIES & USES:

  1. AVCOSON DNL is a neutral cellulase enzyme preparation, designed for producing
premium, high contrast, faded look and a softer handles, with low back-staining
    on denim garments.
  2. AVCOSON DNL is effective in a broad pH range compared to conventional whole
    cellulase preparations (5.0-7.5).
  3. AVCOSON DNL is effective in a wide temperature range (40-60°C).
  4. AVCOSON DNL has a linear dose/response effect. A wide range of abrasion effects
from low to high is easily achieved by changing the dose of the product, with
    and without abrasion stones.
  5. AVCOSON DNL is recommended also for bio-polishing of cellulosic fabrics, with
lower back staining effect. Produces a smoother and softer fabric with less
    pilling after repeated laundries.
  6. Saves handling problems and storage space of big amounts of abrasion stones.
  7. Lowers noise problem in the mill.
  8. Lowers machine amortization.
  9. Lowers damages to garments.
  10. Can be used in combination with abrasion stones with a lower load of the pumic
    stones.
  11. AVCOSON DNL is a mobile liquid which can be metered very easily to the machine.

APPLICATION:

  1. AVCOSON DNL treatment without abrasion stones
    1. Load desized garments and fill machine with warm water to liquor ratio 1:5 – 1:10.
    2. Adjust pH to 5-7 (optimum is 6-7)
    3. Adjust temperature to 45-60°C (optimum is 50-55°C)
    4. Add 1-2% o.w.g. of AVCOSON DNL.
    5. Treat for 30-90 minutes.
    6. Drain solution, rinse immediately hot and cold.
    7. Wash with 1-2 gr/l AVCOBLANC J at 40-60°C.
    8. Continue with softening procedure.
Softening is recommended with AVCOSOFT OZF, an anti-ozone-fading softener, or with AVCOSOFT S-310.
  2. AVCOSON DNL treatment with abrasion stones – combined process
It is possible to combine the AVCOSON DNL treatment with abrasion stones.
In this case a lower dosage of AVCOSON DNL is needed. (0.5 – 1.0% o.w.g.). The procedures is similar to the stone-less procedure mentioned above. The quantity of abrasion stones can be reduced compared to the quantity needed when stone washing without cellulase enzymes.
    REMARKS:
    1. The efficiency of AVCOSON DNL depends on the temperature and pH of the treatment liquor. If the pH is out of the optimum, the temperature should be kept on the lower side.
    2. It is recommended to check the effectiveness of AVCOSON DNL by trials with every specific denim quality.
    3. After the enzyme treatment drain the bath and wash immediately. Fabrics should not stay too long time with enzyme residues as it can cause deterioration of the fabric strength.
  3. BIO-POLISHING TREATMENT
    1. Load machine with the treated cellulosic fabrics. Liquor ratio should be 1:6-1:10.

    2. Warm to 45-60°C (optimum 50-55°C).
    3. Adjust pH to 5-7 (optimum is 6-7).
    4. Add 0.5 – 1.5 % o.w.g. AVCOSON DNL.
    5. Treat for 30 – 40 minutes.

    6. Stop activity of AVCOSON DNL by raising temperature to 70°C and adding 1 g/l soda ash. Run for 10 minutes and drop bath.
    7. Rinse well and neutralize.
    REMARKS:
    1. Mechanical abrasion is needed.
    2. Use a filter system in jets to collect the loose fibres.
    3. Treatment can be done before dying or as a final finishing step after dyeing before softening.
