AVCO-TRYL DF

SEQUESTERING AGENT

AVCOTRYL DF is a chemical compound which inactivates iron, copper, calcium and magnesium ions in textile processing solutions. It increases the stability of soap baths and prevents the formation of metallic soaps.
It prevents the reaction of metals with dyestuffs and therefore eliminates dulling of shades due to metallic ions present in dye solutions.
AVCOTRYL DF is effective over a wide temperature and pH range and may be used in any textile processes where trace metals are a possible source of trouble. Listed below are a few of the many uses for AVCOTRYL-DF.

PROPERTIES & USES:

AVCOTRYL DF as supplied, is a water-thin liquid which will mix in any proportion with water.
AVCOTRYL DF is compatible with all of the common nonionic and anionic textile auxiliaries and dyeing assistants. It will improve the performance of many of these products, particularly in those cases where trace metals in the water supply, or in other chemicals used in the process, or from the textile material itself, can cause difficulties.

AVCOTRYL-DF is recommended for the following textile treatments: Washing-off after de-sizing, Kier boiling, Boiling-off, Mercerizing, Bleaching, Dyeing with Disperse, Vat, Sulphur, Naphthol and Direct dyestuffs, Optical brightening, Scouring, After-treatments and Soaping-off dyed and printed fabrics.

APPLICATION:

The amount of AVCOTRYL DF in any given application will depend directly on the condition of the water. 1 g/l of AVCOTRYL DF based on the total water volume is sufficient to sequester 150 parts per million of hardness calculated as calcium carbonate. This amount will also inactivate traces of iron, magnesium and other metals which are normally present in industrial water, and unless an abnormal water condition exists, 1-2 g/l of the product is usually sufficient. The product is simply added to water at any convenient point. Since it is free-flowing, completely soluble liquid, no premixing is required.
Following are some guiding recipes:
  1. Boiling off grey cotton
    AVCOTRYL DF 1 – 4 g/l
    Sodium hydroxide (100%) 5 – 20 g/l
    AVCO-BIOLIT NFB 2 – 4g/l

Treat for 1-2 hrs at 95°C, rinse with hot water and neutralize

  2. Reductive bleaching
Addition of 1-3 g/l AVCOTRYL DF to the bleaching bath increases the degree of whiteness.
  3. Polyester dyeing with disperse dyestuffs

    AVCOTRYL DF 1 – 2 g/l
    AVCONAL PLD 1 – 2 g/l
    AVCOCID ACD0.5 – 1.5g/l

Dye at 125-130°C for 30-60 min.

  4. Dyeing Vat and Sulphur dyes
To prevent precipitation caused by calcium and magnesium salts add to the dyeing liquor and to the washing off solution 1-2 g/l AVCOTRYL DF. Use of AVCOTRYL DF ensures more brilliant shades rubbing, fastness is improved and bronzing does not occur with sulphur dyes.
  5. Washing off prints of polyamide fabrics
    AVCOTRYL DF 1 – 2 g/l
    AVCOL PAM 1 – 2 g/l
    Soda-ash 1 – 2 g/l
Scour at 50-60°C for 20-30 minutes, followed by hot and cold rinse.
